Magento integration

Magento catalogue in, social posts out

Synapis reads your Magento 2 products, categories and recent orders for the store view you choose, then writes and designs posts around your best sellers, offers and new arrivals.

Connects with a Magento 2 integration access token.

From catalogue to published post

Four steps, and you only take part in two of them.

  1. 1

    Synapis reads your site

It learns your brand colours, tone of voice and what you sell from your own website. No questionnaire.

  2. 2

    Connect Magento

Create an integration in your Magento admin, paste its access token and base URL, and pick the store view to post from.

  3. 3

    It plans the week

Posts are spread across content pillars built from your data: best sellers, current offers, new arrivals and products you have in stock.

  4. 4

    You review, then publish

Each post arrives by email with its caption and design. Edit it, swap the product or regenerate it, then publish or schedule in one click.

What your Magento data does

Built for the catalogues Magento stores tend to have: large, configurable and multi-store.

Best sellers from orders

Units sold over the last 30 days, summed per SKU, decide which products the best-seller posts feature.

Configurable products handled

A configurable product takes the lowest price among its variants, so the caption quotes a real “from” price.

Store views

You choose the store view, so posts use that view’s catalogue.

Offers with the discount

Special prices lead the offer posts, with the discount spelled out in the caption.

Clean catalogue only

Only enabled, visible products with a price and an image are used, so drafts and hidden items stay out of your posts.

New arrivals and stock

Recently added products and stock levels feed their own posts.

How to connect Magento

In your Magento admin, open System, then Integrations, and add a new integration. Give it access to your catalogue, inventory and sales resources, activate it and copy the access token.

In Synapis, choose Magento, paste your store’s base URL and the token, then press Find store views and pick the one to post from. Synapis tests the connection before saving it and works out whether your store serves its API under /rest or /index.php/rest.

On Magento 2.4.4 and later, integration tokens cannot be used as bearer tokens until you allow it. If the connection test fails, open Stores, then Configuration, then Services, then OAuth, and set "Allow OAuth Access Tokens to be used as standalone Bearer tokens" to Yes.

What Synapis reads, and what it does not

Synapis reads products, the category tree and 30 days of orders. It does not read product reviews from Magento, and it never writes to your store. The integration is yours, so you choose its resources and can deactivate it at any time.

Magento questions

Which versions are supported?

Magento 2, through its REST API. Magento 1 is not supported.

Can I post from more than one store view?

Each connection uses one store view, the one you pick when you connect.

Why does my connection test fail?

Most often the store is on Magento 2.4.4 or later, where integration tokens are not accepted as bearer tokens by default. Enable that option under Stores › Configuration › Services › OAuth and test again.

Are product reviews used?

Not for Magento yet. Best sellers, offers, new arrivals and in-stock showcases are.
